Win 10 New Search Experience and Volume Flyout May Appear 2019

Windows 10 19H1 is going to release for public in the spring of the next year. But, now the preview builds are live.

In the recent days, Microsoft works on improving a new Search experience on Windows 10 and a modern volume flyout menu. It is likely that this will be enabled in Windows 10 19H1 builds by using Mach2.

Windows Search

There are a lot of changes in the Windows 10 2019 update. But, Microsoft hasn’t announced these changes which will be listed in the following to public officially. Thus, the plan may change finally.

Firstly, Windows 10 19H1 is going to separate Cortana from the Windows Search. To be specific, there will be two different icons on the taskbar.

Here, with the first icon, you can access Windows Search, and with the second icon, you can open Cortana without the search bar.

At that time, Windows Search can work independently, and Cortana can work on its own window where it can focus on digital assistant-like functionalities.

You can press Start + S buttons to open the new Windows Search panel, and its homepage can show you the recent activities including the web pages opened in Microsoft Edge browser.

To make a search, you still need to type the object into the Startup menu. However, you need to press the dedicated icon or use voice command to access Cortana.

You can see the sections previously found in Cortana at the top side of the screen. Click on the More option to make Folders, Music, People, Settings and Videos show up. And the Settings option is linked to Search Settings page.

After clicking the three dots at the top side of the screen, you will see the indexing option. You can open the indexing options page to see the included locations for searches. Besides, you can modify it to contain the local drives and other locations.

Then, in Setting app, you can also find Cortana and Search.

Cortana

Cortana can be used on its own window independently. It is opened with the listening mode on by default. Besides, the digital assistant features are the focus.

The left pane of Cortana can expand automatically when you hover over the navigation pane, and the Settings option is linked to the Cortana independent page in the Settings app.

Volume Flyout

We also heard that the volume flyout will be accessed from the sound icon pinned to the taskbar in Windows 10 19H1
