Automatic WhatsApp Backup to iCloud
To automatically back up to iCloud, you should ensure to sign in the Apple ID of the target iCloud, upgrade your system to iOS 9 or later version, turn on iCloud Drive, and spare out at least 2.05 times free space on your phone than the actual size of your WhatsApp history.
Step 1. Open WhatsApp.

Restore WhatsApp from Backup
Usually, users restore WhatsApp data to recover deleted messages or transfer chat history to another place. You can achieve this by restoring them from a local backup or a Google Drive backup.
Restore WhatsApp from a Local Backup
WhatsApp automatically backs up its messages and stores them to your phone; your phone can save up to the last 7 days of backup files. To restore a less recent local backup, just follow the following guidance.
Step 1. Download a file manager app.
Step 2. In the file manager app, go to sdcard/WhatsApp/Databases. If you can’t find your backup there, just try to look up the internal or main storage of your phone.
Step 3. Rename the backup file you are going to restore from msgstore-YYYY-MM-DD.1.db.crypt12 to msgstore.db.crypt12, for example. Don’t change the number of the crypt extension.
Step 4. Uninstall WhatsApp.
Step 5. Reinstall WhatsApp and tap RESTORE when prompted.
Restore WhatsApp from Google Drive
Step 1. Log in to the Google account, the one you created the backup with.
