At the Flash Memory Summit on August 6, Smart IOPS announced its new Unobtanium FN SSD, geared towards the Storage Class Memory. This SSD combines with Toshiba Memory's XL-FLASH Low Latency 3D Flash Memory to provide the best low latency and high performance.

Introduction of Smart IOPS Unobtanium FN SSD

Smart IOPS, Inc. a leading provider of storage solutions, released a new Unobtanium FN NVMe SSD at the Flash Memory Summit on August 6th, shocking the Storage Class Memory (SCM) market. Most of the mission-critical programs that require high endurance and extremely low latency, which falls between DRAM and storage drive latencies are equipped with storage class memory. And this SSD is very suitable for these programs.

The Smart IOPS Unobtanium FN SSD can achieve up to 1,700,000 random read operations per second, up to 800,000 random writes operations per second. For endurance, it can hit 15 drive writes per day for five years. There is another important thing you need to pay attention to: It provides an unprecedented 75μs of 99.999% QoS latency for random read operations with a queue depth of 16 and 30 µs of typical random read operation latency.

The Smart IOPS Unobtanium FN SSD takes advantage of Toshiba XL-FLASH Low Latency 3D Flash Memory and comes in capacities ranging from 800 GB to 3.2 TB with the possibility of 6.4 TB capacity in the future. With the help of 3D NAND devices enabled by three-dimensional scaling, the Smart IOPS Unobtanium FN SSD is likely to change the market dynamics of Storage Class Memories.

Smart IOPS has shown a live demo of Unobtanium FN SSD in booth number 609 at the Flash Memory Summit from August 6th to August 8th.

Ashutosh Das, CEO of Smart IOPS, Inc. said that Unobtanium FN SSD has combined its innovative TruRandom technology with Toshiba Memory’s XL-FLASH device to offer a unique product that can provide best in class low latency and high performance with a very attractive price for the Storage Class Memory market. He also said that Smart IOPS will continue to provide high quality, high-quality storage solutions with the best performance and latency.

The Smart IOPS Unobtanium FN SSD greatly enhances artificial intelligence, machine learning, data analytics, content delivery and caching, making it an ideal choice for next-generation data processing needs.

Toshiba Memory is very happy to see our XL-FLASH™ Low-Latency 3D Flash Memory make its entry into the market.  We are happy to see Smart IOPS introduce products using our XL-FLASH™. We are excited about numerous possibilities that our low latency XL-FLASH™ devices will enable.” said Hiroo Ota, Technology Executive, Memory Application Engineering, Toshiba Memory Corporation.
