How to Recover Data from Removable USB Drives/Memory Cards?

In this post, we will show you how to use Removable Disk Drive to recover data from your removable drives like SD cards, memory cards, pen drives, etc.

MiniTool Power Data Recovery lets you easily recover data from removable drives like USB flash/pen/thumb drives, SD cards, micro SD cards, memory cards, etc. You can select the logical drive on the USB or select the whole USB stick to scan.

How to Recover Data from a USB Logical Drive?

Step 1: Connect the USB flash drive or SD card to your PC.

Open MiniTool Power Data Recovery. Under Logical Drives, you can identify and select the target logical drive of your USB or memory card and click Scan to start scanning. The logical drive that has a USB mark should be the target USB.

Step 2: When the scan process finishes, you can check the scan result to find the files you want to recover. To quickly locate the target files, you can use Type, Filter or Search features. If you are not sure whether it is the file you want to recover, you can use the Preview feature to preview it.

Step 3: Select the files you want to restore and click Save to choose a proper location to save them. Here, you need to know that the destination location should not be the source removable disk drive. Otherwise, the deleted files in that drive can be overwritten and become unrecoverable.

How to Recover Data from the Whole USB Device?

You can also select the whole USB drive or SD card device to scan and recover data from it.

Step 1: Connect the USB drive or memory card to your Windows computer. Launch MiniTool Power Data Recovery. Click Devices tab on the main UI. Select the target USB or SD card and click Scan.

Step 2: Wait until the scanning process ends. Open each path in the left panel to find wanted files. Check needed files and click Save button to select a new destination to store the recovered files.

You can use Preview, Type, Fiter and Search features to quickly find wanted files.
