We may experience a lot of problems when we use OneDrive to synchronize. OneDrive sync pending is one of them. Once the OneDrive sync pending occurs, we cannot sync the files to the Cloud.
OneDrive was first launched by Microsoft in August 2007. It allows users to store files and personal data in the Cloud. We can share files and synchronize file across Windows and MacOS. And we can also upload Microsoft Office documents directly to OneDrive.
Why need to perform file sync? There are main two reasons:
1. For some enterprises, schools or other multi-computer users, keeping files up to date on such many computers is difficult. At this point, file sync is a perfect solution to get over this trouble.
After uploading files to the OneDrive, we can download the files on other computers. This saves us a lot of time and is easy to manage.
2. For some individual users, file sync helps them recover the files as quickly as possible when the files are lost or corrupted. Once this case happened, we can download files from the OneDrive to restore to previous status.
Obviously, file sync is more convenient and useful. But what should we do if OneDrive not syncing? Today, we are going to show how to fix the OneDrive sync problem.
How to Fix OneDrive Sync Pending
Move File out Sync Folder
Step 1. Right-click the OneDrive icon in the taskbar, then click Pause syncing in the context menu. And then select 2 hours.
Step 2. Open the storage path of OneDrive and find its sync folder. Then select a file to drag to the desktop.
Step 3. Back to the taskbar and right-click the OneDrive. Choose Resume syncing in the right-click menu. Then we can see if the OneDrive is syncing normally.
Disabling or removing OneDrive in Windows 10 would be an easy job. This post will tell you how to disable or remove OneDrive with a few steps.
We can try to reset OneDrive if the OneDrive sync stuck as previously. Follow the two methods below:
By Command Prompt
Step 1. Type Command Prompt in the taskbar search box and press Enter.
Step 2. Log in with your administrator account and type the following instruction at the Command Prompt and then hit Enter.
％localappdata％\ Microsoft \ OneDrive \ onedrive.exe / reset
Step 3. If the icon on the taskbar does not appear after a few minutes, execute the following command
％localappdata％\ Microsoft \ OneDrive \ onedrive.exe
After executing this command, we will notice the blue arrow on the OneDrive icon. It means that the file is being synchronized. When sync is completed, check whether all files are synced correctly and if the problem has been resolved.
By OneDrive Setting
Step 1. Right-click the OneDrive icon in the taskbar, then choose Settings in the context menu.
Step 2. Next, turn to Account window in the Microsoft OneDrive settings and then click Unlink this PC.
Step 3. Provide our permission to unlink OneDrive in the confirmation prompting appearing next window.
Step 4. OneDrive setup will appear again when unlinked the account. Complete this wizard and set it up.
Although the OneDrive is wide-spreading like Windows, there are still some drawbacks, such as:
- The file may not be synchronized by the web edition.
