MiniTool ShadowMaker allows you to mount partition images, disk images, and system images as virtual drives. Note that all these images should be created by using MiniTool ShadowMaker. Once an image is mounted, a new partition appears in Windows Explorer and you can quickly access the drive to view backup files inside.
How to Mount an Image?
Step 1: Open MiniTool ShadowMaker first and enter the main interface.
Step 2: Go to the Manage tab and click on the three-dot icon next to the backup task and choose Mount from the drop-down menu.
Step 3: Select a backup version and hit Next to go on.
Step 4: Choose a partition to be mounted and click Mount.
Step 5: MiniTool ShadowMaker will ask you whether you want to mount the drive image, click OK to confirm.
Immediately the mounting operation is finished.
Now you can see the newly mounted partition under Windows Explorer.
How to Dismount an Image?
It is recommended to dismount the virtual disk after all necessary operations are complete, as maintaining it requires considerable system resources and you may perform some operations on the wrong partition.
Step 1: Open MiniTool ShadowMaker. Go to the Tools tab and click on Dismount.
Step 2: Check the volume you want to dismount and click the Dismount button.
Immediately the dismounting operation is finished.
