If you have a doc. docx, or txt file that you want your computer to read to you, you can do that in Microsoft Word.

It is easy to start by adding the Speak command right to the Quick Access together at the top of the Word window. Now, here is the tutorial.

  1. Open the Microsoft document.
  2. Click the small down arrow at the right of the Quick Access toolbar.
  3. Then click the More commands option. 
  4. In the Word Options window, click Choose Commands From to continue.
  5. Then choose All Commands.
  6. On the list of commands, scroll down to choose Speak command.
  7. Next, click the Add button to continue.
  8. Then click OK to close the window.
  9. In the Quick Access toolbar, you can see that the Speak command has been added and you can see there is a play symbol in the message box icon.
  10. In your Word document, select the text you want to read to you and click the Speak button.
