Intel Has Introduced Graphics Command Center app for Windows 10
For a long period, the graphics drivers of Intel are bundled with the company’s Control Panel which is a Win32 application and fails to match the UX of Windows 10.
This enabled users to adjust a variety of display and video-related settings. However, the company realizes that the interface for the Control Panel is not the easiest one to understand and then it is introducing a new solution for the purpose.
On March 22, 2019, Intel released new Graphics Command Center app for Windows 10 devices and you can download it from the Microsoft Store directly.
What’s New in This New Graphics Command Center
This Intel Graphics Command Center is a new and modern application which aims to help consumers to control game settings and GPU-related functionalities. There is a significant update from Intel’s legacy UI design for its previous graphics control panel application. Besides, there are some other advanced options for optimizing the experience with Intel Graphics.
You know that this app is available on the Microsoft Store. Thus, it is exclusive to Windows 10. It aims to supply the same capabilities as the traditional control panel in a package which can be easier to understand.
As to its visual performance, this apps offer an interface which is familiar to Windows 10 users with the XAML UI elements and Fluent Design, including the Reveal lighting effects and Acrylic material.
On the other hand, Intel also simplified the access operation to some of the features of the control panel. Game optimization can be done via the home page directly, multiple monitors can be easier to set up and configure rather than having a separate dedicated page.
As to the video settings, image and color corrections are displayed in a single page with a few default profiles being offered, though it’s possible to create custom ones.
Now, every part of the settings can be easier to be obtained and presented in a more friendly way. This new Graphics Command Center app can even inform you of the new drive updates after you install the Intel Driver and Support Assistant.
In fact, this app is one part of a broader effort from Intel which can make life easier if you use its graphics cards for gaming and content creation.
The Development of Graphics Command Center app for Windows 10
According to Intel, if you are using the latest Windows 10 update and the 6th generation Intel Core processors or newer, you will be allowed to install this app. Most of the Windows 10 PC should be meet this requirement.
At the same time, the company is also going to launch the 9th generation of H-series Intel Core processors in the second quarter of 2019 and it gives a promise that there will be more improvements for gamers.
Intel has also teased its first discrete GPU for a long time, and it’s expected to be released in 2020.
It is quite possible that improving gaming on its platform is very likely leading up to that launch.
If you want to try this new Graphics Command Center, you download it from the Microsoft Store. However, Intel said that this app is still in early access and more features will be added in the future. Perhaps, when it is good enough, it will be installed automatically when you upgrade the graphics drivers.
