After upgrading to Windows 11, you are allowed to roll back to Windows 10 within 10 days. However, what if you want to downgrade Windows 11 to 10 after 10 days? Now this post from MiniTool shows you how to extend Windows 11 rollback time beyond 10 days.
Within ten days after updating Windows 10 to 11, when you find that your application does not apply to Windows 11, or you think that Windows 10 version is faster and more stable, you can go back to the previous Windows 10 operating system.
But you may feel that ten days is too short a time to judge whether you need to roll back to Windows 10. So, to downgrade Windows 11 to 10 after 10 days without losing data, you can extend Windows 11 rollback time.
How to Extend Windows 11 Rollback Time
Way 1. Extend Windows 11 Rollback Time With CMD
The first way to extend Windows 11 rollback time is to use Windows CMD.
Step 1. Type cmd in the Windows search box and right-click Command Prompt from the best match result to select Run as administrator.
Step 2. Click Yes in the UAC window.
Step 3. In the command line window, type the following command and press Enter on your keyboard:
DISM /Online /Get-OSUninstallWindow
If the 10-day rollback period has not expired, you will see the remaining days the system is available. If you see Error 1168 – Element not found, then the previous Windows version has been removed and there is currently no way to go back to the previous version.
Step 4. Next, type DISM /Online /Set-OSUninstallWindow /Value: the number of days. Here you need to type the exact number of days you want to extend the time limit to. For example, you can type DISM /Online /Set-OSUninstallWindow /Value: 60.
After that, press Enter to execute the command.
Now you can roll back Windows 11 after 10 days.
Way 2. Extend Windows 11 Rollback Time With Registry Editor
In addition to using CMD, you can extend Windows 11 rollback time via Registry Editor.
Note: Backing up the Windows registry before performing the steps below. Then you can restore registries from backup files when something goes wrong.
